Chemotherapy with Taxotere

When hormone therapy is no longer effective for treating prostate cancer, chemotherapy is the next best option for men with significant symptoms or those with no or minimal symptoms who have progressed after receiving immunotherapy with Provenge. Several years ago, Taxotere was approved for patients whose disease is no longer responding to the hormone treatment because it can improve survival. Important questions addressed in the accompanying video include:

  • How effective is the treatment?
  • When should the treatment begin?
  • How is the medication administered?
  • What are the possible side effects?
